Costa Almeria
The Costa Almeria is situated in the south-east of Spain,
in the province of Andalucia. Almeria itself holds the
title of "city with most hours of sunshine",
with a total of over 3000 hours. According to this - the
average annual temperature is round about 19 degrees Celsius
and the water of the Mediterranean never gets below 20
degrees.
The
climate of the Costa Almeria is Subtropical-Mediterranean,
which means warm and dry and most of the time you have
a bright, cloudless blue sky. This mild climate makes
the area a destination, where you can plan an original
holiday all year round. Its not only swimming, surfing
and enjoying the beaches, you also can participate in
all kinds of sport-activities, you can explore the rich
culture and the history of the region, by visiting one
of the numerous caves, or you can go hiking in on of the
nature parks like Gata de Nijar.
The
main villages are Carboneras, Mojacar, Vera, Garrucha
and Cuevas de Almanzora. Here you can find typical and
tradicional spanish shops and restaurants, but you dont
have to miss the facilities of modern life.
Vera
is only half an hour from the international airport of
Almeria. The surroundings of Vera are one of the fastest
developing regions in the whole of Spain. By implicating
strict laws, concerning number of developments, heights
of buildings and style of buildings, the regional government
ensures that, even with all the development, the region
keeps the homely touch.
Vera
and the Costa Almeria - well worth thinking about!
